March 9, 2026: Hrimfara on Deck

Josh came today and removed horses’ shoes, trimmed them, and then reshoed them. It was sunny day, perfect weather for going for a ride. Once again, I had to work. But I tell you what. I am going to start taking Mondays off, starting next week. This way I will have time to spend with Hrimmi and the gang.

All were very expectant today, quiet for Josh, very much enjoying brunch and ready to hit the trails. Well I have now made a promise to myself that I am going to keep, and this is that I am taking time off in order to spend more time with them. Sunday and Monday, this will be two days off.

Josh, our farrier, is a man with big ideas. He is considering taking a group of men up Denali, and along the way engaging in counselling activities. What’s odd to me about this is that this is a men’s group – my question is, do men need this? They are the ones in positions of power, so I would think this is a moot point.

Now if there was a woman’s group going, I would sign up to train and climb Denali. This would provide me with an excuse for getting in shape. And yes, I would do this.

Pete wondered how Josh’s expedition would go if there was a weak link.

I also wonder how this event is promoting family togetherness, since families won’t be participating. Maybe the men will come back feeling more loving towards their family members. But on the other hand, they might come back feeling more full of themselves.

I offered to provide advice because I’m good at this. In fact, I’ve gotten practiced in the nuances of fundraising and sponsorship.

Oww, this reminds me – I have to come up with a funding request for tomorrow, for the Lions Club, for Summer in the Park. Owww, it’s late and I don’t want to do this. Owww, if I don’t, I might just as well put on a tee shirt that reads, Bullshitter. It would have an image of a bull with it’s tail up in the air and the poop flying out of its rear end.

I would like to have a tee shirt design shop. Being an ideas person, I’d come up with the ideas.

Today Pete and I went to Kid’s Kupboard – they provide lunches to area children – the nonprofit is located in a large building, formerly a house – a beautiful facility – the BLBP would be so lucky as to have such a nice facility – we are of course a different animal – but it would be nice to have such a space, as Kid’s Kupboard has, in which to converse with people.

I am hoping for a better evening than last evening. All the sudden one of my molars started to hurt really badly – I did not make the situation any better thinking about this. I did my relaxation exercises and took two Ibuprofen, and in short order, I felt better. Don’t want the same tonight.

Next: 69. 3/10/26: Snowstorm
