June 20, 2026: Confused

I don’t know if today or tomorrow is the official solstice date. I will consider them both to be the longest days of the year. I duly celebrated today, and I will duly celebrate tomorrow.

I did work today, on a Saturday. I got a lot done in the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel. I didn’t get any assistance – everyone else was out enjoying the beautiful weather. The two high schoolers showed up and hung out and for two hours and talked about a poster that they are going to illustrate. I didn’t mind that they are doing this. I’m glad that they feel they can hang in the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel.

I left the banquet room at 5:30 p.m., which is early for me. I cleaned up after the horses immediately upon arriving home, and then I ate dinner. After, Pete and I went for a ride. He rode Raudi and I rode Hrimfara. Everything is now in full bloom – this includes the wild geraniums, the wild roses, the dandelions, and the cow parsnip is coming. The robins have built their nests and are flitting around. And the spruce hens babies have hatched.

I watch the Big Bear eagle cam. Both young eagles are ready to fledge.

It’s summer, finally. I just hope that I can find more time to be outside because this good weather is not going to last. We are getting thunder storms in the late afternoons, and small amounts of rain here and there.

I have a loose front crown, so hi ho, hi ho, it’s back to the dentist I go. This is one of those things that I wish would fix itself, but I fear it isn’t going to. It doesn’t hurt – it is just that my front teeth are connecting in strange ways.

There is also the implant infection problem. I don’t know if it has cleared up or not.

Life is just full of unknowns. Ask any horse. Here we are (at least on this planet) jerking them around and expecting them, in short order, to do what we want.

Tonight, I pulled Tinni’s old bareback pad out of the tack room shed and used it on Tyra rather than my saddle or Pete’s saddle. Shit, I forgot that I even had it. When I unearthed it, a string of memories came back to mind. I also used it on Tinni when I had Shadow on her back. This reminds me – I need to bring Flat Alys home and put her in the horse pen and see what the horses do. Maybe tomorrow night.

But the bareback pad and the ride – Tyra did just fine. We moved along at a fast walk. Maybe tomorrow I will ride her up to bench. There will be a longer ride for sure.
