Now that’s a great idea. I need to be cloned. Problem is, it would be many years before the clone would be able to do my job. And by then, I’d be long gone.
I suppose that if we get the hotel that I’ll spend some time unclogging toilets because people being people, they are not always careful about how they dispose of waste products. Also, I suspect that the plumbing in the historic Eagle Hotel is not state of the art.
It’s good to give some thought to such things. It’s like preparing to dive off the edge of a pier. You don’t want to dive blind, into a foot of water. It is hard on the body and hard on the mind.
I pause. After making a wonderful analogy, I wonder how to continue. It’s like the grande finale at a fireworks display. Best maybe, to change the topic of conversation.
Another beautiful day here, one that I spent in the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel. I again was the first to arrive and the last to leave. I do like working in the mornings, before anyone else arrives. I can then putter around in an uninterrupted fashion. Otherwise, I putter around in an interrupted fashion.
Today, Artist in Residence, Cathy Stone, made her first visit to the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel. She had never been there before. Her comments were both predicable and astute. Like many, she had no idea how big physically, our project actually is. She made me laugh when she said, “I didn’t need to be buying books at Bishop’s Attic.” (Bishop’s Attic is located kitty corner to the historic Eagle Hotel.)
I was not able to do much artwork because after her arrival, eight or so other people came to find out about, or do volunteer work. This was a far cry from what it had been like there just three hours previously.
It was a good time. There was a strong sense of comradery, as there always is. I would like to have seen more children’s books get cleaned, but having volunteers interact in a peaceable fashion is most important.
I did not go swimming. My lower back is sore. Perhaps tomorrow.
