September 17, 2024: Happy Bird Day 2 Ewe

Just another day. Pete did work hard to make me feel special – I didn’t need any more accolades than this, so I didn’t bother to tell anyone that this was a memorable and momentous day in my life. Har har.

Someday, maybe next year, I will host another “All About Me” party, like I did a few years ago. I had a yard party – I put a sign that read “Presents go here,” on the picnic table – a joke. This of course was taking something to an extreme – I say if you can’t do it right, don’t do it at all, and I could not do it right, so I didn’t do it at all.

The Palmer Museum parted company with Tardis yesterday, the city took away the wooden phone booth, and I later learned, put it in city storage. I went to the office of the individual who orchestrated the move and asked about this. The flak catcher took notes and said he’d let the head man know about my concerns.

The head man called here when I was at the hotel and said that the phone booth is “a city artifact.”

I then went to the Palmer Museum and talked with the Executive Director, a very kind person who felt really bad about this. I assured her that our partnership will not be jeopardized. Tomorrow I will go over there with a thank you card and a book. Yep. This is what I will do.

The Palmer Lions Club used to be fascinated with me. Now they are getting bored with me. They don’t know who they are dealing with. I am going to make the literacy/vision connection.

The same holds true for the Palmer Friends of the Library Board of Directors. Tonight they agreed to allow the BLBP to use the Palmer Train Depot for our Leap into Literacy event. This is going to be a large undertaking on my part, but I can do this.

And Saturday I will go to the Muskox Farm and bring books for the Friends of the Palmer Library story time. This is not pushing a door open, but rather wiggling through a slight opening. Gosh, I like my own analogy. I will pick really good books and make everyone happy.

Tomorrow, I will work in the mornings here, at home on loose administrative ends. Then I will go swimming. Pete is going to the orthopedist who will check out his sore knee. We may end up getting our MRIs on the same day.
