Pete found one set of keys in the glove compartment of his car and the second set hanging on the broom nail.
We are not yet in the clear. I need to find his credit card, which I have misplaced.
I stayed in a good mood today as we went to Anchorage and first had our hearing aids checked. I like Elizabeth, our audiologist. She knows what she’s doing and is good at conveying audiology type information.
Then we went to Title Wave Books and picked up eight boxes of books. I remained in a good mood as Pete attempted to find a back way into the Kaladi’s café, doing the figuring as he walked ahead of me. I finally walked back the car and said we should drive to the front entrance, which he did. He got us hot chocolate as I talked with Josh, our Rasmuson program officer about Summer in the Park particulars. It does look like they will provide funding for tangible program items.
I obviously have come a long ways. There was a time when I would have handed the phone to Pete and told him to make the call. Actually, I did have him assist me in figuring out how to make the call. As I always say, a step forward is a step earned. Correction, I just thought of this.
Early this evening (it was already dark) I decided to play hero and went outside and loaded up the muck buckets with wood and brought them inside. The wood box was almost full, but I like keeping it full. I then went and put a goat coat on Swamp Thing who was in her pen, alone, and extremely cooperative. Then I went to put a goat coat on Sastrugi, who was outside, on top of her shelter, and not so cooperative. She was cold and did not seem to know that having a goat coat on would help some.
I had to give up because I was getting cold. Admittedly, I was wearing mismatched mittens.
Pete was making dinner, so I went down to feed and clean up after the horses. I by this time was wearing one mitten and one glove. I got cold and did not finish picking up the poop. I looked at the thermometer before entering the kitchen addition and noticed it was -10˚ F. There you have it, my cut off point. Pete, who must have a lower temperature threshold than me, he went outside after dinner and finished up.
