And I never would have thought that I’d be in charge of a summer staff or interviewing people for an ongoing half-time position.
Today, at 5:15 p.m., a woman walked in the door of the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel and said that she was interested in applying for the job.
I found myself asking questions that related to the job. Now I had in the past been the one being interviewed. So to be the one doing the interviewing felt odd. But in telling her about the position, I further clarified what’s going to need to be done, which is a good thing.
Tomorrow this person will drop off a resume. Maybe we will interview her. Or maybe not. In the next two days we’ll interview two more women.
There is never a dull moment in the former banquet room of the Eagle Hotel.
Summer in the Park(s) is nearly a done deal. Two more days if the weather’s good and no more days if the weather’s bad. Today at Amoosement Park, the weather was marginal. It was sputtering rain and somewhat windy. I didn’t think that we all gave it our all. It’s sort of like the end of the school year – energy tends to wane.
Tonight, back to reality. Pete and I took Tyra and Raudi out on our trails. The hay we are now feeding them all is the best I’ve seen in years. Go figure. Raudi is not coughing. But Tyra’s poop is getting softer and runnier. This could be because she had a diet change – old hay to new, and she has been eating cow parsnip.
Raudi alerted on three hikers, who when asked, identified themselves as hunters scouting for the upcoming hunting season
I then took Hrimmi on a road ride, around the loop and up Jim’s Road. She will grab at grass when she gets the chance. But she is listening better to me.
The question tonight is – is it going to rain tomorrow?
