We have a bookcase at Wolf Eyecare – it’s bookcase guardian had not filled it recently. I had four bins for this purpose in the car and went and got one of them. I had selected eye and wolf books, so I am sure that I made some people happy. It is a truism that some people in the world are never happy. I avoid these people
The first clinician did a general vision test type exam. I asked her if generally vision is better early in the morning, and she said no, it makes no difference. I do not believe this. I had an easy time reading the charts in the a.m., which is not the case later in the day.
I asked the woman how many people she sees in a day, and she said roughly 25. I told her, and I meant it, that this is a staggering number. It really is. She then told me that, yes, this makes for a long day then gave examples, relying on her family life.
I thought as I often do, that she had her morning coffee. This is something that I like – people in the mornings are upbeat and chipper and fun to talk to. This woman was no exception.
I next went into the room in which I was to have the inside of my eyes looked at, by Dr. Mayberry. I had a long wait. I don’t know why I could not wait in the waiting room, near all the books. Fortunately, I had a book with me, so I kept myself occupied by reading.
Dr. Mayberry and her capable assistant were also upbeat and cheerful. I could tell from what she was saying that my eyes are fine. As for the eye twitch, she said this was caused by stress and a lack of sleep, which sounds accurate to me.
Pete and I left Wolf Eyecare and checked out the books in the Harley Davidson bookcase, and then went to the college and filled the library cart.
This was just the early morning part of my day. The most remarkable thing was we had a whole day stretching out in front of us.
