Look at this dispatch title. Read it, and then read it again. This is what I did. Most of what I write in dispatches is nonfiction, but of course fact and fiction are dance partners and not wanting to part company.
So yeah, I spent the day at home and did not go anywhere. I did seriously entertain the thought of going in but reminded myself that I did a lot of work yesterday, in a short amount of time, and I promised myself that if I did this (before I did this) that I would not go in. I try hard to keep my promises to myself, no matter how consequential or inconsequential they might be.
This morning I did project stuff, calling people and writing emails. When I was done, I felt caught up. I worked in the morning because I knew that the Muskox farm interns would be coming over. |

Two of them, L and Alicia, showed up at 1:00 p.m., as planned. I had thought that there might be four, but again, just two showed up. Two, as it turned out, was a perfect number. I decided to reach back into the caverns of my mind and do TTeam, Centered Riding, positive reinforcement, and Intrinzen work with the horses.
We started out with Raudi, and I did TTeam and Intrinzen work. I got the gym mat and the body wraps out, and first showed them how to do TTouches, then mat work.
Raudi remembered everything. She ate quietly while we did the body work, and then when asked, she stepped right onto the mat. After, we did pretty much the same with Tyra and Hrimmi. I put wraps on Hrimmi’s back legs, and she was able, when I used the wand and touched her legs, to lift her rear legs.
All this took time. But after, there was time to go for a ride. Pete, who had been working in the garden, agreed to go with. I figured that I’d walk and give a lesson. I followed behind Pete who was on Tyra, L who was on Raudi, and Alicia who was on Hrimmi. My foot was still bothering me, so I walked behind everyone, and yes, recalled when I used to run behind the horses.
My situation is really bad. I am hoping that I heal, and heel soon.
We went around the loop. Chris, who lives at the compound, said that a bear had come through his yard last night. This, I think, was the same bear that I saw on the road. I told L and Alice that if a bear was around, that the horses would alert on it.
We went around the loop relatively slowly, with the horses every so often stopping to graze.
We decided to go up Jim’s Road and also do Siggi’s Trail. The horses, maybe because they’d eaten on the road, were less grubby on the trails.
I know that L and Alicia had a good time. And this turned out to be a good visit for me.
