I’ll bet they’ll say, amongst one another, “Imagine! Those Alaskans thought we were sending their books to Kenya for free!”
Today, a low and then a high. I went to the Sutton Library to pick up some books they had for us. The library, which is quite beautiful, is in a beautiful setting, which includes a Story Book walk, a playground, and the Alpine Historical Park. The place is a treasure, and of course I didn’t rush out of there.
The low – I could not find the newspaper box that we’d had painted and held our books. It was not where it had been left, on an Alpine Historical Center porch. I had the library staff call around, and they could not get a hold of anyone who knew anything about this.
The high. So Vicki, who was at the library with her four year old granddaughter, Freya, noticed that it had been moved to a roadside pull off, and was situated in front of an interpretive sign.
I checked it out – it needed books. I filled it. It’s actually better off where it is now than where it was before.
A low. A fellow entering the Sutton Library came in and told me the right rear tire on my vehicle was low. I went outside and checked it out. Turns out he was right. I went back to filling the boxes I had on hand with books.
A high. I called Pete who came and took off the old tire and put on a spare. I was very grateful because he both was full of good cheer and had no problem changing the tire. I suppose I could have done this, but I wasn’t even sure where the spare tire was.
A low. Lots of work to do in the former banquet room of the historic Eagle Hotel. It was overcast with bits of blue sky poking through the clouds. There were a handful of volunteers on hand, and I just wasn’t in the mood to interact.
A high. Enough got done so that I don’t have to go in tomorrow.
