I seem to be dealing with people who don’t fully understand what it takes to keep this going. They turn their heads the other way when I ask for assistance.
The one saving grace, more and more so – is that I live in a semi-rural place and live a semi-rural lifestyle. And every single day, I find myself blown away by the fact that as a horse owner, I’m living the dream. I have these three amazing mares who are agreeable, both on the ground and under saddle.
Today, I took Tyra out – I had not ridden her in some time. She was eager to get out and indicated that she’d like to go on an adventure. I didn’t have time for this, but we did do our trails. I wasn’t up for going fast, but we did trot and canter some. If I’d asked for more speed, she would have obliged. She’s behind in her training because of a saddle fit issue. She’s round and so her saddle slips when I ride her.
I got this sense that she would have preferred to have Pete ride her because he’s more relaxed and more confident. She most definitely carries herself differently when he rides her.
We did, today, order new saddles for both Hrimmi and Tyra. I’ve been riding Hrimmi in her saddle, which was designed for Pete. I slide all over when I ride. This has done Hrimmi no good at all. It will be a great day, when I ride her in a saddle that fits us both.
So Pete called Synergist and talked for a long time with C.J. Recall that Dave and C.J. took us in when we lost Mr. Siggi, and Dave remade his saddle to fit Signy. Well, the news from Synergist was not good. C.J. had an accident some time ago. She came off her Missouri Fix trotter and broke 27 bones in her body, most in her rib cage. She had to be moved by helicopter to the hospital. I once broke or maybe just bruised my ribs and was laid up for some time, so I can’t imagine breaking that many rib bones.
It feels good to again be talking horse.
