This morning we got up late – but we still got the horses out. Once again, I was reminded of just how great the three are. I rode Raudi – she was feeling good and would have cantered even more if I let her. But she did slow down when I asked her to slow down. Pete and Tyra have bonded – they do very well together.
Being around the horses brings me great joy. Riding them brings me even more joy. I am going to find the time to ride. A person can find the time to do just about anything. This is my anything.
I got to thinking today about balance, as this relates to my life and figured out that I might have an answer. It has to do with the proposed Summer in the Park(s) plan. I am going to do research on the interactive activities – and at the same time, do them myself. This evening an idea came to me as I was talking to Elisa, who had us take her mother’s books last spring. This is, Bugge Park – maybe the first week read books about bugs, this including the itsy bitsy spider – and then have the children imitate bugs. For the Amoosement Park, we’ll read a moose story or two and have a moose activity.
I need to get a notebook and start writing down my ideas. I was going to do this today, but I got distracted by an alternative task, which was to sort the chapbooks into increments of six and seven, stamp them, and (this is what I will need to do in the next few days) wrap them in recycled newsprint. Lawrence will hand them out to seniors on Tuesday.
Pete showed Lawrence how to post books on eBay today. And Lawrence is going to show others how to do the same. This will generate more income. As importantly, these books that are treasures will get into the hands of really appreciative readers.
This may become a regular thing, with the BLBP supplying wrapped books to those hosting birthday parties.
My job this evening is to stoke the fire. I think I can handle this.
