This morning, we met with Colten, who is going to do the online book sales. The guy is sharp. He figured out which company was better to go with – Abe Books or Alibris, settling on Alibris after doing some algebraic mathematical equations. The ease with which he did this made me envious. I wish that I found doing math as easy as writing.
Writing isn’t all that easy. Getting going each day is like diving into very cold water. It isn’t so bad once I get in, it’s the getting there that’s difficult. I always fear (to extend the analogy) that I won’t be able to withstand the proverbial heat.
Today I worked on Part II, the creation of the BLBP board. I think I made some progress. I do know that my decision yesterday, to stay true to my chronology, was a good idea. A lot of times the problem solving is in my head, but because it doesn’t involve all that much moving around text, seems less consequential than it actually is.
In the afternoon, Pete took me to get my two new pairs of glasses. Pete took me because I do not like driving on the Parks Highway. Both pairs fit just fine. I do not know when I’ll be wearing my heart shaped glasses, but I’m sure that I’ll find some special occasions.
Yes, it was yet another up and down day. A board member had to resign this morning. And then this afternoon we learned that the Saltchuk organization is giving us $25,000. I said to Pete, you know, we’d have made that much money if we had 25 silent auctions, this because we made $1,000.
We just need to find a few more like companies.
Once again, I am extremely tired. And tomorrow, at midday, I have to go to the dentist and pick up my retainer. If I get charged for this, it’ll be for the retainer fee. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
And, ha ha ha haha ha ha.
