I go in a circle, and I return to the point at which I said something I said previously. I do this a lot. It’s a really big circle, so it may appear to some that my ideas are original.
So what now? Yeah, took all three horses for a walk this morning. We all enjoyed ourselves. The moose are out and about, plunging through chest deep snow berms. I don’t see them because I am human and have really poor sight, smell, and hearing. But the horses, they see, smell, and here moosey moosey. Heads go up, eyes widen, and ears prick forward. I look around, to show concern, but they are not fooled. I’m just a dumb human. |

It was sunny, cold, and windy. I was okay with walking three horses, but I would have had a hard time walking four or more. And here I am, wanting another horse, an Icelandic gelding. One with Tinni’s disposition.
I sing songs, ears swivel. I know they know what my mood is, the songs are a further indication that I’m glad to be in their presence. Are they glad to be in my presence? Out of habit, yes. Out of love, concern, kindness, no. They are domesticated, but because they aren’t house animals, they don’t have any particular feelings towards this human.
I’d love to live in a house with the barn attached, the living room having a window, so I could watch them, and they could watch me. They, of course, would continue to have access to the outside, but would come inside and eat out of a manger outside of the window. No, it would not be possible to open the window.
We did not see anything unusual on our walk. There are a few places where the roofs have a lot of snow. Pete told me that the snow gets heavier if it warms up. It must take in the water. We have a heavy snow load on our roofs, but I think we are okay.
Sunny, cold, windy, in town far; more windy than it was on the home front. Took me by surprise. There is a wind tunnel in front of the side door of the former banquet room of the Eagle Hotel. Today it was a fierce wind. I knew as soon as I got out of my car that I would not easily be able to get the bins of books into or out of the former banquet room. So I did not distribute books today. Instead, I sorted, cleaned, and categorized the incoming Title Wave books. There were quite a few.
This took well into the evening. Have to get the books in their places before Sunday, before the dog day.
All this work; it is a bit much for me. At this point, I do not know how much longer I’ll be doing this. My writing career has gone down the tubes, and I miss spending time with my horses. Is this the same old same old? I think so. I think not.
