I work at keeping the conversation interesting when doing physical therapy. So as I was getting out of the pool, I says to Susan that I would like two things for Christmas – a hot tub and a donkey. First, the hot tub. If this was something that Pete wanted, we would have it. However, it most likely will not happen because he’s not a big fan of such things. He does enjoy saunas, which would be okay with me meaning that this would be better than no external heat/relaxation source.
The donkey. Pete would quickly come up with a drawback. The first thing that he’d say is that noise wise, getting a donkey would be the same as with getting a rooster. Donkeys sound like a water pump, and they are also very vocal. Pete would also say that I’m not spending enough time right now with my horses, which makes me think that adding a donkey to the mix would be a good idea? My response to this is that if she came with a cart, I’d get practiced enough so as to hook up Hrimmi and go.
Pete forgot to come and pick me up this afternoon. I thought, how could he forget? He must know that I don’t drive home in the dark. The sun is now setting at 3:45 p.m. Now we have a week and three days until the solstice. Then the light will return. And soon, it will be daylight when I am to drive home.
It being dark, I had Pete drive me to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital, so as to see Clyde.
Hospitals aren’t what they used to be. They seem like they are more like hotels. You can go in just about any time and trip the light fantastic with the patient of your choice. We were told when we went to see Clyde in ICU that she was now on the second floor. Amazingly (and this was at 8:30 p.m.), Clyde was her usual chipper self. She did have a hematoma – it was not, as I thought, visible. But additionally, she can’t move her right leg.
She had not had any visitors. I’m glad I went when I did. I might also go again tomorrow.
