On the positive side of things – today the swallow family left their house. The parents had raised their baby or babies in the corner house – in previous years they’d raised their babies in the house outside our window. I knew yesterday that at least one young one was ready to head out into the world. The parents were flying back-and-forth with insects. They must have been tired of feeding such a large bird. Nature holds sway and says, “It’s time,” and out flies the bird. It probably landed on the lawn, and the parents continued to feed it there. We’ll never know, although this evening as I was cleaning the horse pen, I heard the swallow call, “cheep, cheep, cheep.”
Pete has decided to wait on harvesting the honey until the sun is again shining. I say, feed them kool aid and sell the resultant honey to kids.
I had a pretty good day, talked with the Kid’s Kupboard food distributors at the Amoosement Park, Hagan Park, and Buggee Park. This is what I now must do. It’s fun, the people at these sites are supportive of the book project.
I worked some at the hotel, took in books and chatted with a new board member. Then I went to the chiropractor, Dr. Joe. I went into his office walking and standing upright. I came out walking and bent over. One of his adjustments caused me so much pain that I could not see straight.
He says that perhaps I have a bone spur, or maybe calcification in the hip socket. Oh oh. We agreed that if my condition fails to improve in three weeks, I will go and see an orthopedic surgeon.
I have decided to think positive about this. I believe that in thinking positive speeds up the healing process. Doesn’t this make sense?
I was restless when I got home. I wanted to go for a ride, but I knew that this would be a dumb thing to do. Pete, riding Tyra, went without me. All I could think was it was fortuitous that this did not happen on our trip.
I did walk around the loop, and by the time I got home, I was able to stand up straight.
I go back and see Dr. Joe tomorrow. This on a very hectic day.
