Postscript: Arctic Arrow Farm

I recently attended the Solstice Party at Bernie and Jeanette Willis’s Arctic Arrow Farm. I always look forward to this event because it is as a holiday party should be. The Willis’s live on the edge of a lake. Some sleigh ride, some dog mush, and some hang out by the bonfire. This year, Fred and Ethel came with their horses. The pair went rode out onto the lake, walking side-by-side, and after properly warming up their horses, tolted. After a short bit, they again slowed to a walk, returned their horses to their trailer, blanketed, and watered them. The two had obviously talked at length about what had happened at my place, and had decided that what had happened, ought not happen again. The question that repeatedly came to mind as I wrote the above article is, can people learn from their mistakes? I am glad for all involved to say that the answer is yes, most certainly. As I watched the two from the shore, my faith in human nature was again restored.
