August 7, 2012: What Gives?

I have a cold. I usually know in advance when I’m about to be sick. And nine times out of ten I’m able to fight it off. But not this time. I woke up feeling like my head was in a dense fog. Add to this, I had a sore throat, a cough, and a slight fever.

All I wanted to do was to sleep, but being a guest, I could not do this. So I took cat naps in between doing things with Eleanor. I imitated Pumpkin and Gracie, who I noticed also take short naps. Nice cats, Gracie and Pumpkin. Eleanor is very fond of them, and vice-versa. I’m not a cat person. But I am an animal person, so I understand why she’s so attached to the pair. I particularly like Pumpkin, who sits and waits on the sidewalk when El goes and waters her neighbor’s yard.

This is a bad time to be sick. I’m also not used to the heat or intense sunlight. All I want to do is sleep. This is a case of just plain bad luck.
